It looks so strange to me, a school completely surrounded forested land while still being in a metropolitan area. It doesn't look real. It looks out of place, as if they went into the middle of no where and plopped it down. This isn't meant to be a negative, just incredibly interesting.
That’s actually exactly what they did and the city grew up around it. Originally it was opened as an upper level university and it took about 10 years before freshman came to campus. In the first few years, there were only five buildings and part of the parking lot was dirt and gravel. They would have deer that roamed the campus and on a few occasions had to clear snakes out of classrooms.
This is a rough picture, but that’s an aerial view just before the first days of class.
